About the Project
The sand and gravel industry serves as a major supplier of aggregate, concrete and asphalt which supports the construction and maintenance of the nation’s civil infrastructure. The facility implemented a basic filtration system for treatment of stormwater runoff in 2002 however changes in permit requirements required the facility to consider implementation of a retrofit. Clear Creek worked directly with the facility’s environmental manager to develop a strategy for upgrading their existing treatment facilities to incorporate chitosan enhanced sand filtration.
Clear Creek repurposed much of the existing stromwater infrastructure in an effort to reduce cost while upgrading facilities. In addition to providing water treatment equipment, Clear Creek worked with site personnel during the installation and commissioning of the stormwater treatment system to achieve the project goals. Clear Creek is providing ongoing support services for routine system operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
