Client: A Marine Contractor Dock & Storage Facility

Location: Aberdeen, WA

About the Project

An Aberdeen, WA based marine contractor received a third-party lawsuit for violations of the Clean Water Act (CWA).  Clear Creek immediately deployed an interim Chitosan Enhanced Sand Filtration (CESF) system to treat stormwater runoff from the marine facility and storage yard.

The temporary CESF system was also utilized as full scale pilot test to evaluate the design elements of a permanent stormwater treatment system.  Clear Creek worked with the project engineer and owner to design the permanent treatment system to utilize existing infrastructure and limit interference with the facility activities.  The treatment system has successfully treated and discharged over 100,000,000 gallons since commissioning in 2013.
